Your mission is to design your ideal learning experience and explore innovative learning methods which can be tailored to you and your fellow cadets!

Dream big, learn differently, and ignite your passion for technology as you delve into one of the following:

• Introduction to Computer Science and Information Technology
• Cyber Security Basics and Ethics
• Emerging Technologies (e.g. AI, IoT, Blockchain, Software development.)
• Networking, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management
• Data Analytics, Visualisation and Cloud Computing

Your challenge is to think outside the box, leveraging technology, creativity, and innovation to make these topics accessible and exciting for learners aged 12 to 18. Take a look at what CGI does for inspiration!

🎉 On Monday, HRH The Princess Royal, Admiral of the Sea Cadet Corps, officially inaugurated the new Stonehaven Sea Cadets Unit premises at the town's harbour! 🎉

Over 300 cadets, parents, volunteers, supporters, and community members joined the unit, making this event even more special as they celebrated the 70th anniversary of the unit. HRH gave an inspiring speech, toured our new building, cut the ceremonial cake, and unveiled a commemorative plaque. Junior sea cadets also presented her with a beautiful posy of flowers. 🌸

The new premises on Marischal Street is a testament to the dedication of our Sea Cadets volunteers and the generosity of the community. This state-of-the-art facility offers expanded space, improved amenities, and disabled access, enabling to support more local youth with valuable skills, qualifications, and self-confidence through the Sea Cadets program.

Additionally, the building will serve as a vibrant community hub for activities such as drama, yoga, martial arts, and mental health support groups. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and excited for the future! 🚢✨

The Royal Marines Commando Training Centre in Lympstone, Devon hosted six teams of our Royal Marines Cadets for a challenging two-day course where cadets’ teamwork, navigation and communication are put to the ultimate test. It was a hoofing effort from everyone involved, doing their detachments and companies proud. The full results are below:

This weekend saw a spectacle of success at the National Drill and Piping Competition! Our exceptional cadets wowed the judges and our esteemed guest of honour, The Admiral of the Sea Cadet Corps, HRH The Princess Royal, with their precision and ceremonial finesse.

From intricate drill displays to flawless piping performances, they captivated the audience and secured victories in various categories. In attendence were Admiral Sir Philip Jones GCB DL, Captain Sea Cadets Neil Downing RN, our CEO Martin Coles CBE and Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal who honoured a few lucky cadets by personally awarding their trophies and medals.

The Square Rigger Club Charity have announced their first-ever photography and media competition for our cadets!

Following the theme 'Beyond Boundaries', we're looking for captivating photos or other forms of media that capture the essence of life aboard Sea Cadets offshore vessels. Whether it's showcasing diverse individuals breaking barriers, achieving new milestones or highlighting inclusive dynamics.

There are some great prizes up for grabs:

- The President's Prize: £100 voucher for the winning digital photo

- The McBeath Memorial Award: £100 voucher to the winner & a £400 cash prize for the unit with the best media form!

The competition is now live with the deadline on 31 December 2024 and winners announced in Spring 2025.
